Senior Tax Accountant

We are looking for a motivated, positive and keen Senior Accountant who will be completing accounting, compliance and tax-related work

Responsibilities:

Prepare Business Activity Statements (BASes) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS’s)
Preparation of SMSF Financial Statements and Tax Returns in preparation for the auditor
Prepare Financial Statements, including Depreciation Schedules
Prepare Income Tax Returns
Preparation of FBT Returns
Proficient in taxation issues such as Division 7A and CGT
Assist Clients with MYOB, Phoenix & QuickBooks Queries
Assist Clients with Xero
Prepare Annual Review Reports
Provide general accounting and taxation advice to clients
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings.
Research and accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients
Participate in external and internal training as required
Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented and complies with procedures and systems
Maintain current and accurate files and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
Update Job Manager on a daily basis
Prepare P & L and cash flow budgets for clients
Use available resources to seek answers to technical questions prior to consulting manager
Other duties as requested

Requirements:

Bachelor of Accountancy / Commerce and Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant
Minimum of 4 years of Australian accounting and taxation experience
Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts
Experience working with Australian SMEs
Experience in SMSF financial statement preparation
Competent with computer operations as well as some specific applications, such as Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook
Experience with relevant computer systems
The person must be keen to learn and develop their computer competencies
Particularly good in verbal and written English communication skills
