iwork.ph publishes practical guides, buying advice and free calculators for virtual assistants, freelancers and people who work from home — written for both a global audience and readers in the Philippines.

How we research our guides

Our buying guides start from the work, not the product. We define what a task actually requires — the real spec floor for VA work, for example — and then find the cheapest machines that clear it. We read manufacturer specifications, independent testing where it exists, and retailer availability in both the US and the Philippines.

We deliberately do not publish star ratings or review scores, because we do not run a testing lab and inventing scores would be dishonest. What we publish is a reasoned recommendation with the trade-offs stated.

When we say "do not buy"

Often. A large share of the people reading a "best laptop" guide do not need a new laptop, and we say so. Advice that always ends in a purchase is advertising, not advice.
