Editorial Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026.
Every disclosure on this site links here, so this page has to be worth the click. It explains exactly how our recommendations are made and where the limits of our knowledge are.
How we choose what to recommend
We start from the work, not the product. Before looking at a single model we define what the task actually requires — the real spec floor for virtual assistant work, for example — and then look for the cheapest options that clear it. A more expensive product only appears when it solves a problem the cheaper one genuinely does not.
What we test, and what we don't
We do not run a hardware testing lab, and we do not pretend to. Our recommendations are built from manufacturer specifications, independent testing published by organisations that do run labs, retailer availability in both the US and the Philippines, and the practical experience of people doing this work daily.
This is why we publish no star ratings and no review scores. A score implies a measurement we did not take. What we publish instead is a reasoned recommendation with the trade-offs stated plainly — and every product page lists real drawbacks, because everything has them.
Pricing
Prices move constantly and vary by retailer, region and sale period, so every price on this site is a snapshot with the date it was checked shown next to it. Where a price is an estimaterather than a confirmed listing — because a marketplace listing could not be verified at the time of writing — we label it as approximate on the page itself rather than presenting it as fact.
Always confirm the current price at the retailer before buying.
Affiliate relationships
We earn commissions on some outbound links, explained in full in our affiliate disclosure. Three commitments govern how that works:
- We never rank by commission rate. The order of our picks reflects fit for the task, nothing else.
- We routinely recommend the cheapest option that does the job — including telling readers not to buy at all when the machine they own is good enough.
- Advertisers and affiliate partners have no input into editorial content and cannot buy a recommendation or a placement.
When we say "don't buy"
Often, and deliberately. A large share of people reading a "best laptop" guide do not need a new laptop, and the honest answer is worth more than the commission. Advice that always ends in a purchase is advertising, not advice.
Updates and corrections
Buying guides are reviewed quarterly, and the "last updated" date on each article reflects real revisions, not cosmetic edits made to look fresh.
If something here is wrong or out of date, we want to know. Email contact@teestore.io and we will correct it and note the change.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting and editing. Every published recommendation, specification and price is reviewed by a person before it goes live, and the editorial judgements — what to recommend, what to warn about, what to leave out — are human ones.
